Adam Timmerman FCA Area Director

As Director for Northwest Iowa (NWIA) my team and I strive to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. We desire to  see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes using our core values: Integrity, Serving, Teamwork, and Excellence. In our area, I oversee 5 area representatives who, in turn, work with coaches and athletes across NWIA. We are grateful and excited for what God is doing in NW Iowa. We would love to have you play a role, big or small, on the NW Iowa FCA team!

Adam Timmerman was born and raised on a farm in Cherokee, Iowa. He was the middle of 3 children. He enjoyed playing all sports as a youngster including baseball, basketball, and began flag football at age 10. He started running track in 7 th grade and by his senior year was running the 110-meter-high hurdles. Adam went on to play college football at South Dakota State University earning Division II All-American and Academic All-American honors and the opportunity to play in the Division II all-star game, the Snow Bowl. He graduated in 1993 with a degree in Ag Business. He was then drafted in the 7th and final round of the 1995 draft by the Green Bay Packers making him the number 230 th pick overall. His 4 seasons with the Packers included being a starting member of the Super Bowl XXXI championship team and the Super Bowl XXXII team before signing with the St. Louis Rams in 1999. As a Ram for 8 seasons, he was a starting member of the 1999 “Greatest Show on Turf” team that won Super Bowl XXXIV and returned to Super Bowl XXXVI in 2001. He also appeared in two Pro Bowls and was team captain 2003-2005. In his 12-year professional career, Adam played in 4 Super Bowls, 2 Pro Bowls, amassed 221 consecutive games (204 regular season and 17 playoff) and blocked for 6 NFL MVPs as a guard before retiring in 2007. Adam currently resides in rural Cherokee, IA with his wife Jana. They have 3 children: Mason (married to Libby), Alexa (married to John) and Jada and recently became a grandparent.

He returned to farming upon retirement from the NFL and was also a shareholder and General Manager of Icon Ag & Turf (John Deere dealerships in NW Iowa) for over 10 years before joining the Iowa FCA team as the Northwest Iowa Area Director in 2018. Adam’s previous experience with FCA includes the following: St. Louis FCA Board 7 years, St. Louis area Football Camp Coach 15 years, Cherokee High School football Huddle Coach 4 years, Iowa State FCA Board 1 year.

Adam was led to faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and discipled by teammates and Chaplain of the Green Bay Packers. When he signed with the St. Louis Rams in 1999, he met Rams Chaplain, Walt Enoch. Walt and other staff continued to mentor Adam and his wife while they lived in St. Louis. Walt was one of the “founding fathers of FCA in the St. Louis Area and instrumental in introducing Adam to FCA.
